Grade 1 Champions Masterton 2010 ... ?

Postby MarkS » Thu Jan 28, 2010 10:28 pm

I'm just interested to see who everyone thinks will win G1 this year...
Go to www.gannawaynz.co.nz and vote in the poll! A&D in the lead at the moment, Cale were second for a while but Manawatu have just overtaken them... get voting! :)

Here come the fan boys.

It's impossible to say, tight these days.

A good example of pipe band polls: http://www.pipesdrums.com/ViewObject.as ... s-ID=18059

Obviously not the top 4 from the weekend but supporters vote for who they have ties with. Rename it to the "most popular NZ G1 band in NZ poll" imo :P

What a ninja George :)! what was more funny was the script kiddy at SLOT, went from %1 to %50-60 in 3 days.

We were never going to get many votes from the small NZ pipe band scene, had to use my powers on the internet. People are always willing to support when NZ is up against other countries like that.

Tight these days indeed, hence the poll. True, people will often just vote for whomever they have ties with, but the poll is genuinely intended to gauge who is expected to take it out. More votes would at least partially nullify the loyalty vote!

Wasn't trying to bag ya Mark, more online content for NZ pipe bands the better i say. Just an observation from previous experience is all.

Na all good! Didn't think you were! You're right though, the majority of voters will have some sort of allegiance to one band or another. In which case they might actually believe said band will win! Which is great :)

lol @ that poll, Elliot.

Regarding Masterton, I think it's fairly safe to say that A&D will choke and come fourth, leaving the top prize for the most deserving of the other three bands on the day.

It's a competition, i would have some doubts about any of the 4 winning.
