E-Minor Retreat March

Postby Simon » Sun Jan 27, 2008 9:18 pm

Dave Burrows was never my Pipe Major, but he's been a big help to me, and my band. I don't know if a two-parted minor-key retreat march is much of a tribute  , but I wrote this at the end of last year when Dave decided to move on from tuning our band. Thanks for all your help Dave.

Any comments? I would appreciate any feedback.

Nicely put together tune Simon. Makes a change from the usual diet of retreat-type tunes. Has a sort of "tonic" modality to it, reminds me Farewell to Nigg in that respect. I like Land of Trees, and this one might go well with it.

Cheers!

PS what software did you type-set it with?

Hi Bram

Thanks for your comments

The tune is type-set using Electric Pipes.

I play the tune with Norris Farm - found on Viper Piper's original compositions page. The combined bracket is attached.
