Spring Solo's @ StAC 2010

Postby Jamie » Sun Jul 11, 2010 7:31 pm

Spring Solo's @ StAC will be held on Saturday 4th September, again at the Senior College at St Andrew's College. Start time at this stage will be 1:00pm. Entry form attached.

The event will be run under the Canterbury Centre Solo Drumming rules - these can be downloaded either from this site (see the "Drumming" board) or from the RNZPBA website, under the "Centres" section.

This year, the Canterbury Centre is sponsoring a scholarship for the 2011 National Summer School, as has been done in other solo events such as Richmond July Day, Kaiapoi Mini-Band contest and Victoria Square Day - note that the scholarship is for the tuition fee only, not accommodation. This is an under 21 event, and this year is a Tenor event. You will see that it has been included on the schedule of events page. A reminder that as the prize is sponsored by the Canterbury Centre, the competition is only open to people who are a member of a band that is part of the Canterbury Centre.

As always, any donations will be welcomed and will be put into the prize money pool. Looking forward to another great comp this year, hope to see a lot of you back again, and maybe some new faces!! :D :D

Cheers
Jamie

Sorry for the late notice of the draw - been a bit of a last minute rush to get things organised this time round!! :)

At this stage, I'm still waiting for confirmation on some of the Bass & Tenor entries, so will have the full program posted up tomorrow. Until then here is the side drumming draw...

Cheers

Oops, just reading through the program - please excuse the typo on Board 2, Event 303 - this should read "C Grade MSR" NOT "C Grade Compound Time MSR", sorry about that

Such a shame. But big ups to you Jamie for all your hard work and what not, and if anything its made a few people brush the dust off the sticks!

Stay posted guys for the second annual University of Otago Pipe Band solo contest in Dunedin - aiming for November 13th today. A great success last year, adding open events this year with hopefully some awesome judges coming in. Potential workshop too.

Thanks again Jamie - your hard work is not unnoticed despite the cancellation!

Cheers
